Two people were rescued from a burning Dallas home Tuesday morning after firefighters rushed into heavy flames to save them. Both victims were hospitalized for smoke inhalation, with one in critical condition.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the blaze just before 9 a.m. at a home in the 3100 block of Modella Avenue in Northwest Dallas. Heavy fire was already pouring from the front of the house when crews arrived.
A 911 caller reported two people might be trapped inside, prompting firefighters to enter the burning structure immediately. They successfully pulled out a man and a woman.

The woman was listed as stable when transported to the hospital. Paramedics were performing CPR on the man as he left the scene, and he remained in critical condition.
The victims’ identities have not been released. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Dallas Fire-Rescue.
No firefighters were reported injured during the rescue operation.
