LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Dillard’s of Lubbock presented a donation of just over $5,000 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest Thursday from sales of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook.
The annual cookbook has served as a longtime fundraiser supporting RMHC of the Southwest and their mission to support families with children receiving medical care in the community. Over the past 10 years, cookbook sales have generated over $100,000.
“Over the past 30 years Dillard’s has developed a strong bond with RMHC in our communities. The work they do every day to bring comfort to children and families inspires us and makes the sale of the cookbooks an enormous source of pride and satisfaction,” Clara Ellison, store manager of Dillard’s at the South Plains Mall, said.
Emmanuel Ramirez, president and CEO of RMHC of the Southwest, said the organization is grateful for the partnership with Dillard’s.
“We are grateful for our partnership with Dillard’s and their support of the families we serve. From the sale of the Southern Living Christmas Cookbook to donations to our Red Shoe Gala, Dillard’s has shown their dedication to ‘Keeping families close’. Their support allows us to continue to serve families who have an ill or injured child and provide them with a home away from home,” Ramirez said.
The check presentation took place Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ronald McDonald House of Lubbock, 3413 10th St.
