Interment: 3 p.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Greenwood Memorial Park. Eleanor was born on November 13, 1930, to Elma Hall and Paul DeWitt Wagoner in Austin, Texas, where she spent her early years. Eleanor graduated from high school in Austin and later went to the University of Texas in Austin as a graphic design student. She did not finish her studies there, but became an expert, well accomplished mother of four children and wife to her husband. She met her husband there at the University of Texas in Austin, and they were married and moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she lived out her life. Eleanor was an accomplished and successful homemaker, mother, and wife. She raised three girls and one boy through the age of rebellion in the 1960’s and 70’s with grace. She and her husband together built a life that most would envy. She was a volunteer for school, church, and youth groups. She was an artist in every sense of the word and was known for her creative endeavors sewing, painting, ceramics, and gardening. Eleanor was a prolific artist. She created sewing marvels, all kinds of crafts, painting and ceramics. She earned her lifeguard certificate and was an accomplished swimmer. She was a valued volunteer for the FWISD and won several awards for service. She loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed fellowship with the church and anyone she met. Eleanor was a Charter member of Edge Park Methodist Church in Fort Worth Texas. She volunteered for church functions. She participated in craft fairs, youth groups, church fund drives, church fellowship luncheons, and participated in the choir. She also volunteered for a local food pantry, called the “Bread Basket.” When Eleanor became a grandmother, she was always right there to shepherd her children through the sleepless nights and endless questions. She brought them meals, extra hands, a place to rest, quiet wisdom, and no judgment. She reminded them that they weren’t alone and helped them believe that they could do it. For years, she cared for all her grandchildren-watching them, feeding them, loving them, while her children worked and finished their educations, giving them the gift of security and time. She gave ger family a mind that could cut through overthinking to the simple truth, hands that made beauty, a voice that joined others in community, and a heart that stayed open and loving. There was always more room in her heart, more patience, more love. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Wayne Ferguson; and brother, David Wagoner. Eleanor is survived by her sister, Josephine Macphail; her daughter, Beverly Longenbaugh; her daughter, Aletha Williamson; her daughter, Elaine Hall; and her son, Paul Ferguson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Beverly’s daughter, Paula; Aletha’s daughters, Laura and Brooke; Elaine’s son, Alex; and Paul’s son, Daniel. Her great-grandchildren: Paula’s daughters, Charley and Sophie; Brooke’s daughters, Jillian and Avery; Daniel’s daughters, Kaydence and Harlee; Daniel’s son, Lukas; and her great-great-grandchild and Charley’s daughter, Blake. For Our Mom She held us close with steady hands, Through every storm she made her stand. With brush and clay and a bit of paint, She shaped our world beyond compare. “Can’t never could,” she’d softly say, And showed us how to find the way. Now brushes rest, the clay is still, But every stroke lives in us still- In love she gave, in lives she wove, our beautiful Mom, forever loved. Rest now, beautiful, brilliant, faithful Mom. You did life so very well. We love you. GREENWOOD FUNERAL HOME Greenwood Funeral Homes – Cremation 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107 817-336-0584
