Early Voting in the Texas Primary will start soon in the Lone Star State. Texans across the state will have big races to decide up and down the ballot. That includes the race for U.S. Senate in both the Republican and Democrat Primary, all the way down to judicial campaigns.
When Does Early Voting Start for the 2026 Texas Primary?
Early Voting begins on February 17, 2026. You will vote in either the Republican or Democrat primary and vote for candidates running for federal, state, and local offices.
When Does Early Voting End?
The last day to cast a ballot in February 27.
When is Election Day?
Election Day is Tuesday, March 3.
Where Can I Cast a Vote Early?
In Lubbock County you can cast a vote at any polling location. Numerous United Supermarket locations serve as polling locations in Lubbock. As we get closer to early voting, we will post a list of voting locations.
Should You Vote Early in Texas Primary?
Early Voting starts soon as we have already covered. There might be some people who feel compelled to vote early, but I would caution against rushing to the polls. Why? I feel like a lot more information about different candidates will be coming out soon.

In fact, KFYO and the Lubbock County Republican Party will be hosting a debate on February 19th for the candidates running for the 19th Congressional District. The debate will take place at Hillcrest Country Club and if you can’t make it out, you can listen to it on KFYO from 5-7pm.
You also have a Senate race that is heating up in both primaries and lots of races down ballot.
Voters should take time to look up and and down the ballot at who is running and who they want to vote for. Don’t rush it. Take your time and familiarize yourself with the ballot then go and vote when you are ready.
