A simple act of kindness can change someone’s entire day — and on First United Bank’s annual United Acts of Kindness Day, the goal is to multiply those moments across the community.
Austin Market President Stephanie Verdugo joined Trevor Scott in the studio to encourage the community to take part by doing acts of kindness and helping extend the impact through families, workplaces, and local groups.
“United Acts of Kindness Day started in 2020,” said Verdugo, “So we are on our sixth year, and it is just an opportunity for our local bank to bring kindness to Austin. It’s such a beautiful day, and right before Valentine’s Day.”

The event is happening tomorrow, with First United Bank inviting people to join what it calls a movement to spread “joy, hope, and love” not only tomorrow, but every day.
“That’s what’s really special. You can go to UnitedActsOfKindness.org, and you can log your act of kindness, which can be as small as a smile or opening the door for someone, seeing how your friend is doing, reaching out, buying that cup of coffee for a friend, or doing something a little bit grander, maybe seeing someone at the next table over and buying their meal. It really is just everything. It’s a breath of fresh air. It’s a day of just no sides, no funny business. Just be kind. And it’s amazing how far that can go.”
First United Bank’s United Acts of Kindness Day is designed to rally individuals, businesses, and organizations around intentional, practical ways to help others — from small gestures to greater efforts that support neighbors in need.
