The quarterfinals of the ATP 500 in Dallas are upon us, and it’s no surprise that American are dominating, with three players still left in the draw going into the final stretch of the tournament. Last year’s champion, Denis Shapovalov, is also still alive, and even Marin Cilic is still hunting for what would be an extraordinary title at this stage in his career. This Friday at Dallas should be a fantastic day of tennis, with high quality and exciting matches.

ATP Dallas Quarterfinal Predictions
Jack Pinnington Jones vs Marin Cilic

Head-to-head: first meeting

Cilic is having a fantastic start to the year and he has an amazing chance to make the semifinal here. Jones got two excellent wins so far this week, but he is generally a bit out of his depth at this level and if Cilic maintains the level that saw him beat Learner Tien he will certainly advance to the semifinals here and seriously contend for the title.
Prediction: Cilic in 2

Miomir Kecmanovic vs Ben Shelton

Head-to-head: first meeting

Kecmanovic scored a fantastic upset win over Tommy Paul to get to this stage, while Shelton had a very long battle against Adrian Mannarino. Going by form, Kecmanovic has a good chance to win here, but Shelton has become really good at beating those below him in the rankings and will likely find a way through here.
Prediction: Shelton in 3

Denis Shapovalov vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

Head-to-head: Shapovalov 1-1 Dadidovich Fokina

Both players are capable of playing amazing tennis on their day, but also capable of terrible mental collapses. Davidovich Fokina is still hunting for a first career title, while Shapovalov is trying to defend the biggest title of his career so far, so there’s a lot of pressure on both players. All in all, it should be a very tight match, full of great shotmaking but also a lot of errors, decided by who manages to hold their nerve and play the pressure points better.
Prediction: Shapovalov in 3

Taylor Fritz vs Sebastian Korda

Head-to-head: Fritz 3-1 Korda

Korda is certainly underranked and has enough ability to beat Fritz here, but while this match is much closer than their rankings would suggest, the American #1 is definitely the more reliable of the two players. It should be a close match either way but, despite some struggles so far this season, Fritz has a slight edge going in here.
Prediction: Fritz in 3
