Goodwill North Central Texas is gearing up to open its biggest retail location yet.

The Fort Worth-based company announced last week that a 19,677-square-foot store is coming to Mansfield at 989 N. Walnut Creek Drive, suite 151. Remodeling has already begun on the new building, which used to be a Big Lots.

Goodwill is relocating its existing Mansfield store just down the road (960 N. Walnut Creek Drive, suite 100) into the new location. The new store will create 17 additional jobs and will relocate 12 current employees to the new location.

The new Mansfield location is expected to open in early April.

“This move is about more than a bigger store, it’s about expanding opportunity,” said David Cox, president and CEO of Goodwill North Central Texas, in a news release. “Every donation and every purchase directly supports training, education and job placement services for people in our community. By expanding in Mansfield, we’re able to grow our mission, create jobs and serve more individuals who are working to build brighter futures.”
