One of Lubbock’s most beloved events meets a day of romance.

Through a weird twist of the calendar, one of the most famously “Lubbock” traditions of them all — the Lubbock Lions Pancake Breakfast — is falling directly on Valentine’s Day this year. And honestly? I’m a little nervous for it. Valentine’s Day is great and all, but I’d hate to see this decades-long local treasure overshadowed because everyone’s too busy making googly-eyes at each other.

So consider this your friendly, syrup-covered reminder:
The 74th Annual Pancake Festival is THIS Saturday. Don’t miss it.

A Valentine’s Twist: “Stacked With Love”

The Lions Club is leaning into the date with a cute subtitle — “Stacked With Love.” Advanced tickets are just $10, or $12 at the door, which is still an incredible deal for what you get.

And speaking of what you get…

What’s on the Menu?

This year they’re also rolling out a kid-friendly zone with:

Mascots

A bounce house

Cotton candy

More fun surprises

A Full Day of Food and Entertainment

Doors open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. inside the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.

While you eat, you’ll get to enjoy performances from true West Texas gems:

Musical acts

Ballet Folklórico

Other local performers

It’s more than breakfast — it’s a community reunion.

A “More Lubbock Than Lubbock” Kind of Event

This festival is one of those traditions that feels woven into the DNA of the South Plains. It’s friendly, affordable, nostalgic, and just plain fun.

So grab your pancakes early, load up the kids, enjoy the festival, and then go enjoy your Valentine’s evening plans.

Because this event?

It’s too special, too sweet, and too Lubbock to skip.
