All lanes at I-35, Riverside Drive back open following temporary closure

The roadway reopened as of 10:15 a.m. Friday.

AUSTIN, Texas — A road closure in South Austin caused traffic delays Friday morning.

According to the Austin Police Department, the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 at Riverside Drive were temporarily closed and reopened as of 10:15 a.m. It’s unclear what led to the closure.

Drivers were urged to find alternate routes and to avoid the area.
