All lanes shut down on I-35 southbound at Riverside Drive due to "police activity"

AUSTIN, Texas — I-35 southbound at Riverside Drive is closed Friday morning due to police activity, according to the Austin Police Department.

The Texas Department of Transportation announced the temporary closure just before 9 a.m. Authorities are urging motorists to seek alternate routes.

All lanes are currently closed, TxDOT said.

Police have not said when the roadway will reopen.
