AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) – The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera died as a result of suicide, according to an autopsy report obtained by KWTX.

Aguilera died after attending a tailgate for The Lone Star Showdown football game between Texas A&M and the University of Texas on Nov. 28, 2025.

The Austin Police Department reported Aguilera died just before 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29, at a student apartment complex near the University of Texas campus.

Her body was found unresponsive on the ground in front of the apartment building, police said, adding Aguilera was last seen alive in a friend’s 17th floor apartment unit.

“She was witnessed having an argument on the phone,” the autopsy report states, “She was then witnessed existing the living room via a door onto the balcony of the apartment, approximately 169 feet above where she was ultimately found on the ground below.”

Aguilera’s manner of death was listed as blunt trauma in the autopsy report.

A police investigation revealed a “history of statements threatening self harm/suicide,” the autopsy report states. “A suicide-type note addressed to multiple loved ones was found on her phone.”

“It is my opinion that the cause of death is blunt trauma. There was no indication based on law enforcement investigation that another individual was involved in the incident which resulted in the death,” wrote Dr. Leticia Schuman, the deputy medical examiner in Travis County.

Aguilera was originally from the Laredo area and was a graduate of United High School, where she was a cheerleader and honors student. She was studying law at Texas A&M.
