CCFD responded to a fire on Thursday night that left one firefighter and one civilian injured. The firefighter has been released.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — One person was rescued from a house fire Thursday night on the city’s north side that also left a firefighter injured, according to the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

Fire crews responded to the 5100 block of Margaret Avenue and arrived to find a single-story home with heavy fire involvement at the rear of the structure.

Corpus Christi Fire Department Assistant Chief Tony Perez told 3NEWS that crews used an offensive strategy to attack the flames.

One victim was rescued from the home and transported to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital–Shoreline for treatment.

A firefighter was also injured while battling the blaze and was taken to a local medical facility. Perez said the firefighter has since been released as of Friday morning.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

There are no updates on the condition of the victim at this time.
