CEDAR CITY, Utah — UT Arlington women’s basketball (10-14, 4-8 WAC) hits the road for a quick turnaround on Saturday, Feb. 14, traveling to Cedar City for a rematch with Southern Utah (16-8, 8-4 WAC) at the America First Events Center. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. CT (ESPN+).

UTA dropped a 72-63 decision to Abilene Christian on Thursday at College Park Center, despite shooting 48% (21-of-44) from the floor, and the difference came down to possessions. UTA committed 28 turnovers, which helped ACU stay in control for most of the night (ACU led for 89% of the game and pushed the lead as high as 12). Kendal Robinson led the Lady Mavs with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while Kira Reynolds pulled down a team-high six rebounds.

UTA and SUU have already seen plenty of each other this season, with the Thunderbirds taking the first two meetings—58-55 at College Park Center (Jan. 3) and 77-68 in Cedar City (Jan. 29).

Historically, the series has leaned UTA’s way. The Lady Mavs hold a 7-2 advantage all-time, but Southern Utah has won the last two to flip the momentum entering Saturday’s rubber match.

UTA continues to be paced by freshman standout Kira Reynolds, team leader in scoring, rebounding, and blocks, with Nya Threatt providing steady production and Kali Haizlip serving as a perimeter weapon. Defensively, UTA’s identity remains anchored on running teams off the three-point line.

Southern Utah brings a balanced, physical profile that starts with scoring efficiency and control of the glass. The Thunderbirds are averaging 73.2 points per game while holding opponents to 66.1, and they shoot 42.1% from the floor as a team.

NOTEWORTHY

Quick turnaround: UTA is right back on a plane after Thursday night, looking to respond on the road.

Rubber match: Saturday is meeting No. 3 between the teams this season after SUU edged UTA in the first two.

History vs. urgency: UTA leads the all-time series 7-2, but enters trying to snap a two-game skid in the matchup.
