For our October edition of Where to Drink, we offer this list of affordable happy hour destinations, most with great options for food, too. With hours varying from evening to weekend and even all day, there’s a spot on the list for any schedule.

Delucca Gaucho Pizza & Wine
Happy hour at this North Texas-based Brazilian-style pizzeria chain is lengthy. Well drinks and select wines are only $6, with top tier options like Tito’s Vodka and Lunaazul tequila. Cocktails including the caipirinha, French pear martini, raspberry lemon drop, margarita, and maple old fashioned are $8. Exclusively on the bar and patio, Delucca offers $8 bar bites and $9 pizzas such four cheese truffle pizza, and honey soppressata pizza. Delucca has three locations in Tarrant County, including Fort Worth, Alliance, and the original in Southlake. Hours: Monday-Tuesday 11 am-9 pm, Wednesday-Friday 4:30-6 pm
Fixe Southern House
Shops at Clearfork staple with Southern classics and house-made biscuits has a daily happy hour in the bar and patio area, with $10 wines by the glass (including fan-favorite Cotes de Provence Rose Gold), and $9 cocktails including the Honey Badger with Old Forester Whiskey, and the gin-based Fixe 75. Beers range from $6-$8, plus shared plates and early dinner items ranging from $5 salt & pepper fries, $14 fried Louisiana catfish platter, plus $10 catfish po’ boys and shrimp po’ boys. Hours: 3-6 pm daily
Habanero’s Fresh Mex Cantina
Tex-Mex destination in North Fort Worth is lauded for its award-winning happy hour which runs late enough (until 7 pm) to encompass dinnertime. The menu includes dirt-cheap specials on domestic bottles of beer, well and house cocktails, wine, and hard seltzers: $3 each. Imported beer is $4 a bottle, and margaritas start at $5. There’s also an $8 menu of quesadillas, empanadas, nachos, flautas, queso, and guacamole. A large patio and custom salsa bar, along with music bingo on Tuesdays and karaoke on Wednesdays, add to the fun. Hours: Monday 11 am-9 pm, Tuesday-Friday 3-7 pm
Jon’s Grille
Jon Bonnell’s TCU-adjacent burger joint boasts a killer weekday happy hour with $3 domestic drafts, $4 well liquors, and $5 craft draft beers and house wines. House margaritas (normally $7) and espresso martinis (normally $9) are half-off. Top-notch snacks include John’s 817 Classic burger with sharp cheddar, mustard, Bibb lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, 1015 Texas onions, Best Maid Pickles, and fries for $9. Hours: Monday-Friday 3-6 pm
Pie Tap
Dallas-based pizza and bar concept has a location in Fort Worth’s Near Southside that’s popular for its daily specials along with its generous weekday happy hour which runs most of the day from 11 am–6 pm. Go for $4 mimosas, $5 tap beer, $6 select wines, $7 select cocktails, and $7 select half pies. Pie Tap also hosts a weekend brunch Saturday-Sunday 10 am–3 pm, with happy-hour-like specials that include $6 espresso martinis, $4 mimosas, and $3 frosés. Hours: Monday-Friday 11 am-6 pm
Terra Mediterranean
Mediterranean destination reopened at the end of 2024 after a five-year hiatus. Beloved for its vast lunch buffet, Terra also offers an affordable happy hour menu with house wines by the glass for $6, and cocktails — including mojitos, house margaritas, sangria, and the Tito’s Vodka-based kalamata olive-infused Zaytinis — for $8. One other great deal: On Wednesdays, it’s half-off bottles of wine. Hours: Monday-Friday 5–7 pm
Whiskey Cake
Happy hour at this Dallas-based chain — which opened a location at the Alliance Town Center in September 2024 — includes $7 house wine and cocktails, including the espresso martini, margarita, old fashioned, classic martinis with vodka or gin, and the guava gimlet. But this is the place for great nosh, with $7 sharable bar bites like spinach artichoke dip, meat and cheese plate, caramelized onion dip, and applewood bacon and cheddar-topped tater tots. Draft beer is $5. Hours: Monday-Friday 3-6 pm
