PREVIOUS MEETING

Despite surrendering a 17-point lead, Liberty extended its win streak to nine with an 80-69 win over UTEP in January. Brett Decker made 5 of his first 6 shots as the team made 11 of 15 shots to push the lead to double figures early in the game. The lead would grow to as high as 17 late in the first half before UTEP began to claw back into it. The Miners went on a 16-2 run to cut their deficit to 3 at the break. UTEP would tie the game in the opening minutes of the second half before the Flames went on a 15-3 run, holding the Miners scoreless for 4:17 to regain control. The lead would not get closer than six points the rest of the way.

Zach Cleveland led the Flames with 20 points on 9 of 10 field goals. He made his first 9 before missing a three-pointer in the closing minutes. He also added 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and tied his career high with 4 blocked shots. Brett Decker also scored 20 points on 8 of 16 from the field and 3 of 6 from three.  Colin Porter had 15 points on 3 of 6 from three while Kaden Metheny added 13 points.

Since playing the Flames in Lynchburg, UTEP has gone 4-3 with wins at home against FIU, Delaware, and New Mexico State.
