Houston man sentenced to 30 years in prison for coordinated burglaries in Bryan

  • February 14, 2026

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Brytavion Rogers has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in a coordinated series of burglaries involving multiple perpetrators, according to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.

The Crimes

On February 25, 2024, prosecutors say the 23-year-old from Houston and other co-conspirators burglarized a convenience store in Bryan by using tools to cut through the building’s wall and gain entry. Once inside, the group used additional tools to break into an ATM and steal cash.

Just over a week later, on March 5, 2024, Rogers repeated the same method at another convenience store in Bryan. This time, however, a witness observed the activity and contacted the police immediately. Officers from the Bryan Police Department responded swiftly to the scene and apprehended the perpetrators. A search of their vehicle recovered the tools used in both crimes, as well as the stolen cash and property.

The Investigation and Evidence

During their investigation, Bryan Police officers obtained search warrants for the perpetrators’ mobile phones. Evidence recovered from Rogers’s phone included videos showing him committing both burglaries—crucial evidence that helped secure the conviction.

Criminal History

Court records revealed that Rogers had previously served time in prison for Robbery, Theft, and Evading with a Vehicle, all felonies out of Houston.

Charges and Sentencing

Rogers was charged with two counts of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, along with burglary of a building and criminal mischief charges. He was also charged with theft from an ATM in an amount less than $300,000—a second-degree felony that was upgraded to a first-degree felony through the Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity statute.

On February 12, 2026, 361st District Court Judge David Hilburn handed down the 30-year sentence after Rogers pleaded guilty to all charges.

Statement from Prosecutors

“The impact of theft on our Brazos County businesses go beyond the dollar amount stolen,” said Assistant District Attorney Kevin Capps. “Perpetrators should think on this result and put their energies into earning an honest living.”

The case was prosecuted by a team that included Assistant District Attorney Kevin Capps, Investigator Tiffany Graves, and Victim Assistance Coordinator Shae Cooks. The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office credited the Bryan Police Department for their swift response and the collection of evidence that made the successful prosecution possible.
