San Antonio police have arrested a suspect for the 2019 murder of 18-year-old George Ramos after a breakthrough in the cold case investigation.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has arrested a man in connection to the 2019 murder of George Ramos, who was 18 at the time of his death.

Back on June 20, 2019, Ramos was found dead inside of an SUV off Culebra Road after police said he was shot several times following a meet up with, what SAPD suspected at the time, two other people.

Several witnesses said a suspect got out of Ramos’ SUV and jumped into a red or maroon four-door vehicle.

After years of the case going unsolved, Ramos’ family never gave up their fight for justice. And back in 2024, Jessica Ramos, George’s mother told KENS 5 finding the person responsible would give her family some sense of closure.

“It doesn’t bring him back, but at least we would know that they’re not enjoying life the way I can’t enjoy life,” she said.

And now, a small sense of closure has been gained following the Wednesday arrest of her son’s suspected killer, 25-year-old Jeremiah Williams.

SAPD said after years of only having the suspect’s alleged getaway vehicle and license plate umber, they transferred the case over to their Cold Case Division who were able to locate a person of interest, Williams, with the help of surveillance footage.

Officers were able to locate Williams as they conducted a traffic stop on the south side and took him in for questioning before ultimately arresting and charging him with murder.

Williams is currently booked into the Bexar County Jail and faces a murder charge.

SAPD said there are no other suspects at this time.
