“My children are now almost 15 and 17. So I made this one for their nursery when they were little. So I just wanted something kind of quirky and weird to go in their nursery.” Perkins said, explaining how she came up with this cute and quirky idea for stuffed-animal upcycling. Perkins loves transforming forgotten pieces into something fresh and fun.
During the segment, Perkins demonstrated how to turn thrifted stuffed animals into colorful, wall-mounted art. “It’s a great way to upcycle ones from the thrift store, or if it’s like a sentimental one that your kid has outgrown, that maybe you don’t want to donate,” she said, walking viewers through the process and offering tips for sourcing materials.
