Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal stabbing on Friday night between a mother and her adult son, police say.

Officers were dispatched about 8:57 p.m. to the 4800 block of Cargill Circle on a reported cutting, according to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department. Their identities were not immediately made public.

When officers arrived, they found an adult woman with apparent stabbing wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police located a suspect in the nearby area and took him into custody. Early details indicate the suspect is the victim’s adult son, and that the two had been involved in a domestic altercation at the residence, authorities said.
