FORT WORTH – The No. 10-ranked TCU Horned Frogs are set to kick off the 2026 season in the Shriners Children’s College Classic at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The Horned Frogs will face No. 23 Vanderbilt, No. 7 Arkansas and Oklahoma.

• TCU enters the season as a ranked team for the 17th consecutive year.

• TCU is ranked as high as No. 9 (Baseball America, NCBWA) and as low as No. 11 (Perfect Game).

• TCU was picked to win the Big 12 after garnering 13 of 14 first place votes.

• Four Horned Frogs – Chase Brunson, Noah Franco, Tommy LaPour and Sawyer Strosnider – were tabbed Preseason All-Conference.

• Strosnider was voted the Preseason Player of the Year, LaPour the Preseason Pitcher of the Year and Lucas Franco the Preseason Freshman of the Year.

• TCU returns 69% of its offensive production from last year and 50% of its innings pitched.

• Baseball America ranked the incoming class No. 13, the highest rated class in the Big 12.

•  TCU has played at least one regular season game in Globe Life every year since it opened.

• The Horned Frogs have played 30 games in Globe Life over the last four seasons. 

• TCU is 20-10 all-time at Globe Life Field.

• TCU is 7-5 in regular season tournaments at Globe Life.

• TCU owns a record of 43-29 in Major League Ballparks.

• TCU is 27-14 in neutral site contests under the guidance of head coach Kirk Saarloos.

• TCU is 33-16 in MLB parks under Saarloos.

SERIES NOTABLES

• TCU and Vanderbilt will be meeting for the eighth time on Friday. Vandy leads the all-time series 4-3.

• TCU is opening the season against Vanderbilt for the second time (2023 at Globe Life Field).
