The Murray State women’s golf team plays their first event of the spring season at The Texas Throwdown (Feb. 16-17) at The Woodlands Country Club in Woodlands, Texas.
 
The 14-team event has the Racers’ joining 13 other teams at the Woodlands, located just north of Houston.

Coach Philip Nelson’s squad, selected second in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll, is the only team from The Valley at the event.

The schedule calls for 36 holes of play Monday with the final round on Tuesday.

The Racers will experience on the top courses in the USA, as the facility formerly known as the TPC at The Woodlands. The Tournament Course has been home to the PGA Tour’s Houston Open for a second decade and currently hosts the PGA Tour Champions Insperity Invitational.
