HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 16-year-old girl has been pronounced dead after getting caught in the crossfire of a shooting at a house party in Houston’s southside, investigators told ABC13.

The Houston Police Department said the shooting happened at 4637 Dagg Rd, but did not specify when or why it occurred.

Authorities said the girl was taken to a hospital emergency room with possible gunshot wounds and then transferred to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where she was pronounced dead.

HPD homicide investigators said the county notified them of the death at around 7 a.m. on Saturday. Their crews responded to the scene of the shooting, police said.
