For many couples in San Antonio, there’s no shortage of iconic places to get married, from the famous River Walk to the beloved Witte Museum. But how does the Alamo City stack up against other cities across the country? A recent study named San Antonio one of the best places to get married.
WalletHub, a personal finance website, released its ranking of the “Best Places to Get Married” on February 3, ranking San Antonio at No. 20 out of 182 cities. Researchers compared some of the biggest cities across 26 key indicators of cost-effectiveness, convenience and enjoyment. The data set ranges from average wedding cost to venues and event spaces per capita to wedding vendors.
For San Antonio, the city landed in the No. 20 spot thanks to its scores for having some of the most bridal shops per capita, as well as venue and event spaces. The Alamo City also placed 53rd for having the most flower and gift shops per capita and 76th in the musicians and DJs per capita category.
When it came to cost, San Antonio ranked 80th in the average wedding cost category. On average, the average couple is shelling out around $33,000 for their big day, according to WalletHub.
In the top three, Las Vegas took first place, while Orlando and Miami followed in second and third. Austin wasn’t far behind and ranked in sixth place, while another Texas city, Houston, claimed the No. 7 spot. Dallas was ahead of San Antonio at No. 13.
