A cold front is bringing severe weather to Texas, with winds starting to intensify in the Capital City. With the rain and wind comes the looming threat of power outages, and over 7,000 customers are currently without power in Central Texas.

According to Austin Energy’s power outage map, there are roughly 7,100 customers experiencing power outages as of 1:49 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. The outages are scattered across the greater Austin area, and crews have been assigned to all outages that were active at the time of publishing.

Restoration times for those without power varies depending on the outage. The power outage affecting the most customers is located in North Austin between Metric and Lamar Boulevards, not far from Q2 Stadium. This outage is affecting 3,749 customers and restoration is expected by 4:08 p.m.
