West Side house fire spreads to neighbor’s attic; no injuries, at least one dog rescued

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters responded to a West Side house fire on Saturday that spread to a neighboring home.

Crews were called around 5:30 p.m. to the 5300 block of San Simeon near Laven Drive.

According to the San Antonio Fire Department, heavy fire spread from a small single family home to a neighboring home.

The fire spread to the neighboring home’s attic although no details were provided on the extent of the damage.

A second alarm was requested as a precaution. The fire was under control in just under 30 minutes, SAFD said.

Firefighters rescued at least one dog. Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
