FORT WORTH – Everett Cecil “Randy” died February 11, 2026, he was 92 years old. Randy was born on April 13, 1933, in Newbury, Vermont, to Cecil Everett Rand and Ruth Florabell Minshull Rand. He proudly served his country as an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force from January 1952 to May 1956. While stationed at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, he met his future wife, Janis. Janis was visiting her sister Jane, who was also serving in the Air Force, when she was introduced to Randy. After finally building up the courage to kiss Janis, he asked Jane if she would like to have him as a brother-in-law. The rest is history. E.C. and Janis were married on June 10, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas, and together they raised three children: Bryan, Joy, and Kelly. Randy spent most of his working life as a local Merchants Delivery driver. He also faithfully supported his oldest son’s Fort Worth Star-Telegram paper route on Sundays, a job that later passed to his daughter Joy and eventually to his wife, Janis. He served for many years as an usher at Grace Church. Randy loved camping and traveling across the country with Janis, visiting friends and family wherever they went. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Rand; his sisters, Mandy Armor and Izetta Welcome; and his beloved wife, Janis.
