STILLWATER, Okla. (KCBD) -The No. 16 Texas Tech Lady Raiders (23-4, 10-4 Big 12) suffered their second loss on the road Saturday, falling to the Oklahoma State Cowgirls75-65 Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Lady Raiders ended the first quarter, until OSU guard Haleigh Timmer nailed a three-pointer, which put the Pokes ahead for the rest of the game. Even with Tech facing a 36-27 deficit early in the third quarter, Oklahoma State put the game out of reach going on an 8-0 run in less than a minute of play. The Cowgirls even held a 49-32 lead midway through the third.
One of the biggest differences of the game was rebounds, which favored OSU 36-26.
Senior guard Bailey Maupin led the Lady Raiders with 19 points, while shooting 5-14 but was 8-9 in free throws. Snudda Collins scored 18 points and was 2-6 in three-point attempts. Gemma Nunez had eight points in the game.
Collins hit a half-court shot to end the third quarter, but it wasn’t counted because time had just barely expired.
Tech returns to the USA Wednesday evening to face the Baylor Bears, a team they beat 61-60 in Waco on Dec. 21. Tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
