A cyclist was killed in an accident in Port Aransas on Saturday, Feb. 14.

The Port Aransas Police Department issued the following news release on the incident:

“On 2/14/2026 at 7:09 PM, Port Aransas Police Department Officers, Port Aransas EMS Medics and Port Aransas Fire Department personnel responded to reports of a cyclist that was struck by a Ford truck in the area of Howard Blvd and State Highway 361 in Port Aransas, TX.

“Medical attention was given to the cyclist at the scene. An initial investigation showed the driver of the Ford truck was at a stop sign on Howard, began to proceed to Hwy 361, and struck the cyclist who was riding on the sidewalk. The collision sent the cyclist onto Highway 361 where he was struck by a Nissan SUV.

“The cyclist, a 68 year old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“After the initial investigation, there was not probable cause to file criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing, and if criminal charges are filed this press release will be updated.”

The release didn’t include the names of the people involved.
