KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 4 Texas Women’s Basketball team earned their 10th ranked win of the season as they went on the road and took down No. 22 Tennessee 65-63 on Sunday.  

Madison Booker led Texas (24-3, 9-3) with 14 points and Rori Harmon added 12 points four steals and three assists. Jordan Lee scored 12 points for the Longhorns. Justice Carlton and Breya Cunningham each tallied eight points and Teya Sidberry recorded six points. 

Tennessee led 14-12 at the media timeout of the first quarter at 4:44 on the clock. Texas clamped down on defense and used a 12-2 run the remainder of the quarter to take a 24-16 lead. The Longhorns shot 11-of-15 from the field in the opening quarter with Booker, Sidberry and Harmon scoring six points each. 

The Lady Vols outscored the Longhorns 18-10 in the second quarter and the two teams went into halftime tied 34-34. 

With Tennessee leading 40-38 in the third quarter Jordan Lee made a strong move to the basket and scored and was fouled. Lee added the free-throw to put Texas up 41-40. 

Rori Harmon made a steal and sprinted down the court to score a layup. On the Tennessee inbounds pass Harmon stole the ball again which led to a foul and free-throws for the Longhorns. Texas would take a 50-47 lead into the fourth quarter. 

The Longhorns scored 10 of the first 13 points of the fourth quarter and led 60-50 at the 4:26 mark when Tennessee called a timeout. Justice Carlton scored six straight points for Texas and Booker found Carlton for a layup to put Texas up 60-50. 

The Lady Vols closed to within one at 62-61 with 1:51 to play. Madison Booker connected on a pair of free-throws with 16 seconds left in the game to put Texas up 64-61 and Texas held on for the victory. 

Up next Texas will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to make up a game against Arkansas that was postponed from earlier this season. That game will take place on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6:30 PM CT.
