Mavericks star Kyrie Irving was busy on social media during the NBA All-Star weekend.

On Sunday, Irving posted a photo of himself in front of the White House in Washington D.C. with the caption reading: “Tribe, meet me here June 19th, 2026.”

Juneteenth is celebrated on June 19. It’s a federal holiday that marks the end of slavery in the United States, which took place on June 19, 1865. There were not any further details provided on what Irving is planning for his trip to the White House, but his post indicates he will be meeting with fans in D.C. to celebrate the holiday this summer.

Irving also hosted a Twitch stream on Saturday in which he offered some notable insight on his rehab from the ACL injury he suffered last season and gave his thoughts on Mavericks rookie phenom Cooper Flagg.

“It’s not easy,” he said of his injury rehab. “It’s not easy to come back from any injury, but you gotta be mentally, spiritually, physically ready and the frustrating portion has been not being able to push myself to that brink where you’re just dog tired.”

Despite being unable to suit up so far during Flagg’s rookie season, Irving had some big-time praise for the rookie sensation.

“Cooper is just an amazing player & that’s not even just gassing it,” Irving explained. “At 19 years old, doing the things that he’s doing within our league is very special…I don’t want to mince my words either. He’s doing things that some of the greats, even before him, didn’t do. He’s chasing history.”

In the first 49 games of Flagg’s career, he is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Beyond that, he has gotten significantly better throughout the season and has leveled up with every bit of experience he has gained. His 3-point percentage has crept up above 30% on the season and he is shooting 48.2% from the field.

Amid Flagg’s ascension, the question still remains on when fans will get to see Irving and Flagg play together for the first time. Could that happen this season? He said an update on his potential return from the torn ACL he suffered in March 2025 is on the horizon.

“You guys will definitely get an update soon on everything after the All-Star break,” Irving said on his Twitch stream. “We’ll give y’all an update when the time is right.”

The first time the pair of former No. 1 overall picks out of Duke suit up together could happen later this season or may have to wait until the beginning of the 2026-27 season. Either way, the duo of Irving and Flagg appears to be at the center of Dallas’ future plans.
