Cleveland Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that authorities say is connected to a shooting in Houston.
At approximately 3:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 1600 block of East Houston Street (SH 321). A caller reported that a truck had run into a ditch near Cleveland High School.
Upon arrival, officers found a white 2025 Ford F-150 stuck in the ditch. Officers identified the driver as a 16-year-old male.
Cleveland police contacted the Houston Police Department to assist in locating a parent or guardian for the juvenile. During the investigation, officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that night from the Houston area.
Authorities also determined the juvenile was allegedly involved in a shooting that occurred earlier in the night in Houston. A 9 mm handgun was found inside the wrecked vehicle.
The juvenile was later released into the custody of the Houston Police Department in connection with its ongoing investigation.
