RUSTON, La. (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Matt Houston hit two home runs in his season debut on Sunday in Louisiana Tech’s 11-0 win over Houston Christian.
The Bulldogs swept the Huskies in a four-game series.
Houston started at catcher and batted eighth. He was 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. In the second inning, Houston took the second pitch he saw over the right-field wall for a 371-foot home run to put the Bulldogs up 4-0. In the sixth inning, Houston hit his second homer of the game over the center-field wall. His second home run went 455 feet with an exit velocity of 105 mph. This blast put the Bulldogs up 6-0. In the seventh inning, Houston singled through the left side to bring in Hayden Gustavson to make it 9-0 Bulldogs.
Louisiana Tech hosts McNeese on Wednesday.
