Jacksonville’s Todd gets historic game-winning RBI for Texas Woman’s

DENTON, Texas (KLTV) — Former Jacksonville Maiden Riley Todd had the game-winning RBI for Texas Woman’s in an 11-10 win over UT Tyler.

The second game of the doubleheader split was the program’s first win over the defending national champions.

Batting seventh and starting in left field, the senior batted 2-for-3 with a run.

Todd reached on an error in the fifth inning to drive in the final run of the game for Texas Woman’s. It is Todd’s second RBI this season and she is batting .364.

For UT Tyler, Trinity Hale of Edgewood scored a run. Kaylee Harris of Colmesneil pitched in relief, getting two outs while giving up two earned runs on two hits and a walk.

UT Tyler won the first game 7-4. Hale had a double. Harris pitched two innings, giving up three earned runs on three hits and hitting a batter.

Texas Woman’s (2-7, 1-1) and UT Tyler (9-5, 1-1) are each in a four-way tie for seventh place in the Lone Star Conference. Texas Woman’s travels to Kingsville on Friday, while the Patriots travel to Laredo for a doubleheader against Texas A&M International.
