Loop 360’s Lakewood Drive/Spicewood Springs Road

Project: The project will improve safety and mobility by removing traffic signals from the main lanes and constructing an overpass at Lakewood Drive and Spicewood Springs Road, as well as removing the original signal on the main lanes at west Spicewood Springs Road.

Update: According to Texas Department of Transportation officials, construction is contingent on funding and anticipated to begin as early as 2029.

Bell District to 183A Toll shared-use path

Project: Construction is underway on a shared-use path that will connect 183A Toll to Bell Park in Cedar Park. It will be a 10-foot-wide concrete path following along Brushy Creek Road.

Update: According to city officials, crews have begun building the path itself, as well as working on utility relocations and drainage infrastructure.

Project: Williamson County will extend CR 110, connecting CR 111 and Rockride Lane to Patriot Way and Sam Houston Avenue in Georgetown. The project to build a three-lane road also includes drainage structures, signs and pavement markings, and will help facilitate safe access for residents and emergency services.

Update: County and city officials celebrated the project’s groundbreaking Feb. 5.

Project: The project will expand the Round Rock corridor to a six-lane divided arterial between Via Sonoma Trail and Red Bud Lane. Planned improvements include a raised median, intersection upgrades, additional turn lanes, and new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and is part of a broader effort to modernize the Gattis School Road corridor.

Update: Work on the segment began Feb. 2. The initial phase of construction will temporarily reduce the roadway from four lanes to two. Traffic patterns will shift as work progresses, and city officials say motorists should expect delays, particularly during the early stages of the project.

Project: The project will bring two nontolled high-occupancy vehicle lanes between Hwy. 290 and Hwy. 71, remove upper decks along I-35, sink sections of the roadway by about 25 feet and widen the corridor with more lanes.

Update: According to TxDOT, the northbound I-35 frontage road at Riverside Drive will be closed through 2029 to accommodate construction of a pedestrian bridge across Lady Bird Lake as part of the project’s Lady Bird Lake segment. A Riverside Drive bypass lane is now open and a temporary south-to-north U-turn at Woodland Avenue will be opened in order to accommodate the closure. Northbound frontage road traffic across Lady Bird Lake bridge will be reduced to one lane, and the existing pedestrian path and north sidewalk on Riverside Drive will be closed.

Hwy. 71 Safety Improvement Project

Project: The project implemented medians on Hwy. 71 from Bee Creek Road to Bee Cave Parkway in Bee Cave.

Update: According to city officials, the project was completed in January.
