RICHARDSON, Texas (February 16, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University junior forward Antonio Pusateri was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.Â
This is the third time Pusateri has claimed the conference weekly defensive award, and he has been named the Offensive Player of the Week once as well.Â
The California native had a pair of doubles-doubles with 16 defensive rebounds and three blocks to lead the No. 11-ranked Chaps to wins over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M International. Pusateri led a unit that allowed just 59.5 points per game. He averaged 18 points per game and his rebound totals of 10 were both game highs. Pusateri also added five assists. His 17 double-doubles lead the league and are second in all of NCAA Division II this season.
Pusateri is averaging a double-double this season with 16.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. He has started every game this season and is averaging 34 minutes per contest. He shoots 59.5 percent from the floor and also leads the team in blocks with 31.Â
The Chaps are on the road this week, taking on Angelo State and UT Permian Basin, before returning home to close out the regular season with games on Feb. 26-28.Â
