Check out five road project updates around Dallas-Fort Worth, including reconstruction on Eldorado Parkway in McKinney and concrete repairs for Custer Road in Plano.

1. FM 407 and I-35W intersection improvements

Project: Work includes adding right-turn lanes on the west side of FM 407 and I-35W to improve congestion. The project also includes adding drainage, vehicle deflection walls at the FM 407 and I-35W overpass and pavement markings.

Update: The Denton County Commissioners Court approved a contract with Ed Bell Construction Company during its regular meeting Jan. 30.

Project: The road will be widened from two lanes to six lanes between Bill Cook Road and FM 1830. A shared-use path and sidewalk will also be included to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians.

Update: The meeting scheduled for Jan. 29 was postponed due to Winter Storm Fern and updated information will be provided once the meeting is rescheduled.

3. Custer Road

Project: The project will include arterial concrete repairs from SH 121 to Hedgcoxe Road.

Update: Plano City Council approved a contract with R&A Legacy Construction LLC during its Feb. 9 meeting.

Project: New city-owned and -maintained median lighting will be installed by TxDOT along US 380 from Custer Road to Bois D Arc Road.

Update: Construction is underway, and underground electrical elements and light pole foundations have been installed.

Project: The work includes reconstructing failing concrete panels and broken curbs along Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, and Virginia Parkway between Stonebridge Drive and US 75.

Update: Work continues along Eldorado Parkway, with the contractor expected to begin on the last section of the work on Eldorado Parkway between Country Club Drive and US 75 in the coming weeks. Once Eldorado Parkway is completed this spring, work will shift to Virginia Parkway.
