Everyone knows we Texans love to brag. So, here’s yet another bit of information to add to your list of Texas bragging rights.
While I prefer living in the sticks to living in the big city, I love visiting our biggest cities here in the Lone Star State. That said, I’m partial to visiting some cities more so than others. Fort Worth is admittedly my favorite Texas city to hang out in. I’m a big fan of the Stockyards. I can chill there for hours and be perfectly content. I also feel like the Fort Worth food scene is criminally underrated. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s an easy day trip from Wichita Falls.
Austin Football, Food, and the Energy of the State Capital
Right behind Fort Worth is Austin. I’m a big fan of the Longhorns and love to go to football games at Darrell K. Royal. As a total foodie, I also make it a point to try something new while I’m in our state capital, whose food scene is anything but underrated.
The thing about Austin is that it’s not only a great place to visit, but also a great place to live, according to a new study by WalletHub. Our state capital was named the absolute best capital to live in. Austin was ranked in the Top 10 in affordability, economic well-being, quality of education and health, and quality of life. Not too shabby, huh?
