Major crash shuts down Texas 71 in South Austin, snarls traffic

A multi-vehicle crash on Texas 71 in South Austin is causing “significant delays” in traffic, the Travis County Sheriffs Office said.

The crash spans both eastbound and westbound lanes near Bob Wire Road, shutting down the highway in both directions, authorities said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is en route, according to the sheriff’s office.
