With the UIL boys basketball playoffs approaching next week, the postseason picture for several Dallas-area districts is still taking shape. But several programs have already wrapped up district titles entering the final week of the regular season.

See some of the recently-crowned district champions below.

Carter

Ahead of its matchup with rival Kimball on Tuesday, Carter sits at 24–6 overall and 13–0 in District 11-4A. The state’s top-ranked 4A team is two games ahead of second–place Kimball, which has suffered two district losses. Carter has already secured the district championship and now looks to sweep its district rival on Tuesday. Kimball and Carter met in the 4A Division I regional final last season, with the latter ultimately winning the 4A Division I state title.

Denton

Denton (26–3) beat Birdville 55-46 on Friday night in front of an electric home crowd to improve to 11-0 in District 6-5A play and secure the district title. The program, which just four years ago finished 3-24, completed a season sweep of Birdville, a 5A Division I state finalist in 2025. Denton is the state’s third-ranked 5A team.

Duncanville

The defending 6A Division I state champion has locked up the outright District 11-6A title for the first time since the 2022-23 season, when Duncanville finished 29–1 and won a “mythical national championship.” That team was under the direction of coach Neiman Ford and so is the 2025-26 squad, which is 12–1 in District 11-6A. Duncanville (22–6) holds a two-game lead over second-place Lancaster (10–3 District 11-6A) ahead of its season finale against Skyline. The program is the state’s sixth-ranked 6A team.
