The TCU Horned Frogs’ NCAA tournament hopes received a major boost Saturday afternoon. Clinging to the bubble, TCU traveled to Stillwater for a high-stakes showdown against fellow bubble team Oklahoma State. With their postseason hopes hanging in the balance, the Frogs delivered, though it took overtime to get it done.

TCU struck first and never surrendered the lead, but Oklahoma State refused to fade. At times, the Frogs looked poised to pull away. Two consecutive Jayden Pierre three-pointers pushed the advantage to 21–13 seven minutes in, yet the Cowboys answered with a 6–1 run to trim the deficit to three.

Following the Cowboys’ run, TCU began to regain control, extending its lead to 30–22 at the 7:05 mark on a Tanner Toolson free throw. The Horned Frogs maintained a steady advantage for the rest of the first half, leading by five to eight points throughout. By the time the buzzer sounded, TCU held a 39–34 edge at the break.

The five-to-eight-point cushion held early in the second half before big man Parsa Fallah began to assert himself. The senior scored eight points in the opening three minutes, trimming the Cowboys’ deficit to three. However, Fallah’s surge wasn’t enough to give Oklahoma State the lead. TCU quickly answered, pushing its advantage back to nine with a 54–45 edge two minutes later.

The Frogs maintained a comfortable lead for much of the second half. Oklahoma State finally pulled within one at the 1:51 mark when Fallah converted a layup from a Kanye Clary assist. David Punch answered with an and-one to push TCU back ahead by four, but Anthony Roy responded with a three-pointer to cut it back to a single possession. On the ensuing trip, Pierre buried a three of his own, giving TCU an 82–78 advantage.

Clary then converted a lay-in to bring the Cowboys within two, 82–80. As the clock ticked down, free throws nearly doomed the Horned Frogs, who went 2-of-4 from the line over the final 17 seconds. Still, TCU clung to a two-point lead as Oklahoma State took possession for the final shot. Jaylen Curry launched a contested three-pointer for the win, but it caromed off the glass. Fallah followed up with a last-second layup to tie the game at 84–84 and force overtime.

Pierre sparked TCU in overtime, converting a lay-in to give the Frogs the early edge. Oklahoma State answered, but TCU responded with five straight points to take a 91–86 lead. Three and a half minutes in, Brock Harding knocked down two free throws to stretch the advantage to 93–87.

The Cowboys refused to fold, drilling a three on the next possession to cut it to three. After Micah Robinson missed a three on the ensuing possession, Christian Coleman sank two free throws to trim TCU’s lead to one. Robinson quickly redeemed himself with a tough basket to push the margin back to three.

On the final possession, Curry found a clean look from beyond the arc, but he missed the shot, sealing the 95–92 victory for the Horned Frogs.

Six Horned Frogs reached double figures, led by Punch’s 19 points. Pierre followed with 16, and Edmonds secured a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Harding also scored 15, while Robinson and Toolson added 11 apiece.

TCU shot 44.9 percent from the field and 48.0 percent from three in the victory. The Frogs also went 21-of-27 from the free-throw line. Their biggest advantage came on the offensive glass, where they outrebounded the Cowboys 14–9 and turned those opportunities into 15 second-chance points, compared to Oklahoma State’s seven.
