As the spring semester heats up, UTA sports enter a busy stretch with multiple teams looking to rebound and build momentum for the end of their seasons.
Here is the schedule for Tuesday to Feb. 23.
Women’s basketball
Coming off a two-game losing streak, the women’s basketball team looks to get back in the win column, playing Utah Tech University at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Burns Arena in St. George, Utah.
To wrap up this week, the team is set to play Utah Valley University at 2 p.m. Saturday at the UCCU Center in Orem, Utah.
Men’s basketball
The men’s basketball team is coming off a five-game losing streak and looks to bounce back at 7 p.m. Thursday against Utah Tech at College Park Center.
Closing out the week, the Mavericks are set to play Utah Valley at 2 p.m. Saturday at College Park Center.
Softball
The softball team is set to host the seventh annual Boerner Invitational from Friday to Sunday at Allan Saxe Field.
The Mavericks will open play at 3 p.m. Friday against Wichita State University. The team will also play Creighton University at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The team will then face the University of South Dakota at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. To wrap up the tournament, the team will play Creighton again at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
Baseball
The baseball team will start its week of play against Texas Christian University at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Globe Life Field for its first game in Arlington.
The team then plays a three-game homestand for its home opener against Lamar University. The first pitch will be at 4 p.m. Friday, and the series will run through Sunday at Clay Gould Ballpark.
Women’s tennis
The women’s tennis team looks to end its two-game losing streak against the University of North Texas at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the UTA Tennis Center.
Men’s tennis
After a 0-5 start to the season, the men’s tennis team looks for its first win, playing Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions, with a game at 11 a.m. Friday. The tournament runs through Saturday and will be played at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The team wraps up the week against Collin College for a two-game matchup at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday at the UTA Tennis Center.
Women’s golf
The women’s golf team is set to take part in the Texas Golf Throwdown, hosted by Sam Houston State University.
The event was set to start Monday with a 36-hole course and will wrap up with the final rounds Tuesday at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas.
Men’s golf
The men’s golf team is set to participate in the Military City Collegiate, hosted by UT San Antonio, starting Feb. 23 at the Tournament Players Club San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.
