Two road projects in Kyle have begun construction and will soon help direct traffic through the city and around a major mixed-use development.
The details
The Kohlers Crossing road extension project’s east-to-west connection began construction in late 2025. The project entails the development of a new section of Kohlers Crossing, running from I-35 frontage road to Seton Parkway, according to the city of Kyle.
The road will eventually pass under I-35 and connect with Kohlers Crossing. The future I-35 underpass is in the design phase and is expected to enter the construction phase in late 2027.
The project will create a direct route to destinations such as Ascension Seton Hays Hospital and nearby neighborhoods for drivers. The project will improve traffic flow and support Kyle Park, a mixed-use development bringing retail, restaurants and housing to Kyle’s east side.
Also of note
The Bebee Road expansion project is in its first phase, according to the city. The project will increase the roadway’s number of lanes along a 1-mile stretch from two to four.
The project is located between the I-35 frontage road and Sunlight Boulevard. In addition to the expansion, the segment will include a softened curve to improve safety and a roundabout where the road intersects the Kohlers Crossing extension.
Looking ahead
The projects will make reaching essential areas and properties faster and safer, according to the city. The construction phases that have begun are expected to be open by fall 2027. The I-35 underpass is expected to be completed in 2029.
