Junior League of Lubbock opens spring grant applications for nonprofits

  • February 17, 2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Junior League of Lubbock opened applications Feb. 2 for its Spring 2026 Community Assistance Grants, offering up to $12,500 in funding to help local nonprofits manage unplanned expenses.

The application period runs through March 6. The program provides financial support when unexpected costs threaten nonprofit operating budgets or divert resources from mission-driven work.

Registered nonprofit organizations in Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn and Terry counties can apply for grants up to $5,000. Funds may reimburse previously incurred, unplanned expenses that directly support an organization’s ability to continue delivering services.

“Nonprofits often operate with limited margins, and unexpected expenses can quickly impact their ability to serve,” Kathy Wells, Community Impact Vice President for the Junior League of Lubbock, said in a release. “Our Community Assistance Grants help ensure organizations can keep running strong while staying focused on the people and communities they support.”

The Junior League of Lubbock’s Community Impact Council will review applications. The volunteer-led committee evaluates requests based on established criteria and overall community impact.

Organizations that received Community Assistance Grant funding during the Fall 2025 cycle are not eligible to apply during this round.
