Austin power outages leave nearly 5,000 customers without electricity

3:30 p.m. update: Power has been restored to all customers around Brentwood and Northwest Hills, according to Austin Energy’s outage map.

EARLIER: Nearly 5,000 Austin Energy customers are without electricity due to multiple power outages hitting neighborhoods in Central and Northwest Austin.

The cause of the outages around Brentwood and Northwest Hills are currently under investigation by Austin Energy. They estimate the power will be restored around 3:30 p.m.
