HOUSTON, TX—The Cyclonitas took control early and did not let off the gas pedal for two rounds. The Cyclones lead by 22 strokes as they shot a two-round score of one-under. The Cyclones’ round splits were six-over and seven-under. With one round to go for the Cyclones, the goal remains the same.
Nichakorn Pinprayoon took the top spot for not only the Cyclones but also for the whole field. With an impressive total score of four-under, she leads the tournament by two shots. Pinprayoon shot three-under and one-under for her round splits. With some very clean rounds, her eight birdies help earn her current position. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn took Iowa State’s second spot as well as the tournament’s second spot. Chul-Ak-Sorn sits at two-under after a three-over round and a five-under round. Chul-Ak-Sorn totaled seven birdies in her two rounds.
Pammy Chookaew sits in a tie for fourth after her two rounds of one-over and one-under, putting her total at even par. Chookaew grabbed four birdies in her two rounds. Isabella Yan totaled five-over after her two rounds of plus-five and even par. Yan sits in a tie for 12th and has three birdies to show for it. Alexandra Vidal took the Cyclones’ last spot for the team after shooting eight over, putting her in a tie for 23rd. Vidal shot five-over in her first round and three-over in her second with four birdies to go along with it. Keeley Marx played as an individual and ended her two rounds off in a tie for 25th after shooting nine-over. Marx’s splits were two over and seven over with three birdies.
The Cyclones tee it up at 9 A.M. tomorrow morning with hopes to bring home their first win of the spring season.
