KYLE, Texas — A Hays County sheriff’s deputy was arrested on a public intoxication charge while off duty, authorities said.
Deputy Victor Guajardo was arrested Tuesday by the Kyle Police Department in the 100 block of Kennicott Drive, according to the sheriff’s office.

Guajardo, who is assigned to the Patrol Division, was charged with public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor.
The sheriff’s office Office of Professional Responsibility will conduct an internal administrative investigation that will run concurrently with the criminal investigation, officials said.
Guajardo has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
