Austin’s airport is well-known for its record-shattering passenger numbers, hyper local concession portfolio, and live music focus. But have you ever wanted to quantify that down to the last taco and bottle of beer? Someone at AUS apparently did.
According to a Friday press release, the Austin airport sold 1.7 million tacos in the year 2025, which dwarfs the 1.5 million figure from the year before. And that’s not half of the fun had by travelers this year.
Austin airport visitors also ate an incredible amount of barbecue during the year too. That’s right; an incredible 94,249 pounds of brisket (about 47 tons, in case you were wondering).
The airport bars, which include local favorites Hippies & Hops, the Saxon Pub, and the Salt Lick BBQ, served more than 469,000 beers and 91,000 glasses of wine.
Of course, an Austin airport stop wouldn’t be complete without a trip to a smoothie shop like JuiceLand, Jugo, or Berry Austin. And that trio blended up over 300,000 smoothies and juices to fuel passengers on long travel days.
Not to be outdone, 24 Diner sold 86,273 eggs, 26,294 burgers, and added another 27,835 beers to the tab.
When it comes to music and culture, AUS travelers purchased 17,411 pieces of Keep Austin Weird merchandise, 6,614 bottles of Music Water, and 6,573 guitar picks.
“From tacos to brisket, smoothies to souvenirs, 2025 was full of appetite and Austinite attitude. And one thing is already loud and clear in 2026: Austin’s food, culture, and creativity aren’t slowing down, so neither are we,” the press release states.
