SAN ANTONIO – The Archdiocese of San Antonio has issued a warning regarding unauthorized donation pages created by GoFundMe.

The Gofundme company has recently set up approximately 1.4 million pages to collect donations for nonprofit organizations without their consent or knowledge, according to the Archdiocese of San Antonio Department of Communications. This has affected some parishes, schools, and ministries within the archdiocese.

The archdiocese clarified that it does not use GoFundMe for collecting donations. To ensure that contributions support parishes, schools, Hope for the Future, the Archbishop’s Appeal for Ministries, or other archdiocesan agencies, donors are advised to use the official and secure online platforms available on the archdiocesan website at archsa.org.

For questions about donation pages or inquiries about giving to archdiocesan institutions, individuals are encouraged to contact the Department of Stewardship and Development at (210) 734-1910 or reach out directly to the relevant parish, school, or agency.
