COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Several agencies worked together early Monday morning to rescue a stranded hiker on Pikes Peak.
El Paso County Search and Rescue (EPCSAR) said the hiker was stuck near the treeline, which is about 11,500 feet. Conditions on the mountain were snowy, and ropes and a helicopter were involved in the rescue, based on photos posted to the EPCSAR Facebook page.
EPCSAR did not say why the hiker became stranded or what their condition was when rescuers reached them.
“Throughout the night, our team worked with several agencies to provide medical care and extricate our subject,” the post read.
EPCSAR thanked Teller County Search and Rescue, the Colorado Springs Fire Department, Arapahoe Rescue Patrol, UCHealth Lifeline, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the caretakers at Barr Camp for their help.
