Hold on to your hats, children and trash cans El Paso because the windy season is making a short appearance this week!
Monday was a pretty nice and warm afternoon! According to KVIA Chief Meteorologist, Doppler Dave, Monday has been the warmest day of the year so far.
Those warm temperatures will continue but the wind is joining in on the fun and its bringing blowing dust and sand along too. Yay… *Sarcasm*

El Paso Windy Weather Forecast
Tuesday kicks off a stretch of very windy days throughout the workweek. Sustained southwest winds are expected between 25–35 mph, with gusts climbing up to 50 mph and even stronger speeds in area mountains like the Franklin Mountains. Blowing dust is a real possibility Tuesday afternoon, especially given the dry conditions.
Wednesday looks just as intense, with similar wind speeds and continued concerns about reduced visibility due to dust. While there’s still some uncertainty about how severe dust concentrations will become, surface dust models suggest that parts of the El Paso area could see noticeable blowing dust both afternoons.
More localized hotspots including areas near Deming, White Sands National Park, and the Lordsburg Playa may become especially active over the next couple of days.
Thursday and Friday winds are expected to gradually calm down, but breezy conditions are likely to stick around.
